Play is an important part of a child”s early development. Playing helps young children”s brains to develop and for their language and communication skills to mature. … They teach young children about communication, develop their motor skills and help with problem-solving. Active play helps kids with coordination, balance, motor skills, and spending their natural energy (which promotes better eating and sleeping habits).
There are number of ways which we can use to help and support our children. But the first and foremost thing we would recommend you is use lots of encouraging and positive words around them.
Talk to your children – Talking regularly with your children is crucial in building a wide and varied vocabulary, and confidence with a range of sentence structures. These are necessary to be successful in reading and writing.
Listen to your children – The skills your children are using while putting together ideas, constructing sentences and ordering their thoughts are skills that are also used in the reading process.
These are some few opportunities to spend some wonderful and quality time with your kids.
At LDR each class has one non-Hindi teacher, one Hindi teacher and one teaching assistant. Our teachers are all trained and have experience working with young children. We offer regular professional development, both in-house and externally, to ensure that your child’s teacher is up to date with the latest educational practices.
There are a number of ways we communicate with our families. One of the main ways is via the online application. All our Early Years teachers are available in school each morning from 9:00-9:30. Nursery and Junior send home a Communication Book each day which lets you know how much your child has slept and eaten. There is also a small comments sections where you can write a note if needed. If you have a larger topic to discuss please arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher by contacting Vice Principal or HOD.
As highlighted above our curriculum focuses on the three Prime Areas of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Communication and Language. These provide the foundation of all that we do. When children are ready they are exposed to Phonics, this usually occurs in Junior/Senior, and they begin their journey towards reading and writing, a journey that continues throughout their education with us.
We usually place children alongside their peers. Making the decision to move a child into another age group, either older or younger, can impact on their experience of school as they move through Primary, Secondary and beyond. On rare occasions when a child is born on the cusp of the cut-off date, our Admissions Team will place them in the class which is deemed their ‘best fit’.

The admissions team is always keen to meet families from all backgrounds to discuss whether a student’s needs and aspirations can be supported at LDR International School.
It is best to visit during school term time so that you can get a real sense of the energy and excitement that characterises a day at LDR.
