We aim to be one of the best academic schools India has to offer, maintaining the standards we have set since our inception in 2019.
DR International School is proud to announce that, since April 2019, we are offering students the opportunity to complete their childhood education with us by way of our Secondary/Higher Years programme. From their Early Years right through to graduation of Secondary Years and preparation for University and higher studies.
LDR's Checkpoint, IGCSE and AS-A Levels
At LDR, one of the main goals of this programme is to provide students with an environment that supports the rapid intellectual and personal changes happening in their lives. Higher Year students move through the rapid changes that are part and parcel of their age, including the progression from the self-contained learning environment to the potentially daunting transition to IGCSE followed by AS-A levels.
Our curriculum, CAIE – Cambridge, not only provides a bridge from the CBSE curriculum, but also prepares our students for the demands of analysis and synthesis that are inherent in typical IGCSE tasks. In addition, Cambridge programme reinforces our school’s mission to develop resilient, thoughtful and caring individuals through a practical, values-based education that makes them competent global citizens.
LDR’s Checkpoint programme emphasises intercultural awareness and communication, and is committed to giving students the academic and personal tools they need to be successful at the secondary level. The school offers students a safe and supportive community for their creative exploration, out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving. Individualism and self-discovery, the respect of all cultures and the betterment of the school and local community, are all key factors in the school’s ethos.
Checkpoint students will:
- Have an appreciation for and value teamwork and effective communication
- Be provided small-group and individualised instruction to accommodate their unique needs
- Further develop their intrinsic motivation as well as essential academic, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills
- Explore their sense of self and place in the world, developing their international mindedness; and deepen their understanding and extend their learning beyond the classroom by linking their learning to broader concepts
IGCSE and AS-A Level:
LDR’s IGCSE and AS-A Level programmes for students in Years 9-12 are dedicated to preparing students for the important challenges that lie ahead of them. To this end, there are two distinct phases to our Cambridge experience: the IGCSE years of Year 9 and 10 and the AS-A Levels in Years 11 and 12. The Cambridge programme is recognised worldwide as an outstanding preparation for university studies. Furthermore, its philosophy and Learner Profile aligns with and reinforces our school’s mission. During IGCSE, students also have the opportunity to participate in various competitions. Through this internationally recognised competitions students will experience adventures and challenges that will contribute to their physical and emotional development. During their IGCSE and AS-A level years, pupils are not only preparing for challenging external examinations, but are also developing the effective communication skills necessary to become true global citizens.
This will be accomplished by:
- Providing students with a wide range of learning strategies that address diverse learning styles and the unique academic needs of each individual.
- Reinforcing the importance of culture, identity and sense of self.
- Creating opportunities for students to collaborate with each other, so they continue to recognise and appreciate the importance of teamwork and team building.
- Further developing effective communication skills that transcend nationality and embrace open-mindedness and diversity.
- Establishing a learning environment that is conducive to building self-confidence and appreciation of the intrinsic value of all members of the school community.
